75 Days of Plastic Surgery

Actually the name of this article is: 75 Hard!

75 Hard is the name of a discipline program created by Andy Frisella – @andyfrisellaWhich that I participated in and I got a better result than I expected and I dare compare it to plastic surgery, because it was like “surgery”, only without cuts, without anesthesia, no bruises or scars because it was an internal plastic surgery that ended up reflecting externally, so it deserves to be shared.

What exactly is 75 Hard?

Without any type of adaptation, and if by chance you forget a task, or skip one of them, the rule is clear, you must start over from the 1st day.

  • 1 workout of 45 minutes
  • 1 workout outdoors of 45 minutes: rain, shine, storm, or snow (total of 2 workouts per day)
  • Drink 1 gallon of water per day
  • Read 10 pages of any book that learns something new, or that helps to develop some skill
  • Take 1 picture of your own body every day to track your progress (not narcissism ), but to keep an eye on the details Choose any diet (it’s free)

For those who are going to adapt any task of the program, know that you will be creating your own program, and that’s okay, but it’s not 75 Hard. I say this because I watched a guy on Youtube saying that he did the program, that person only did 1 workout and drank half of the water, I don’t think he read the regulations or the author’s book, that is, he created the program himself, but it says that it’s 75 Hard, only it really isn’t.

What’s the point of the program?

Discipline. For those who want to discipline themselves. In fact, starting this program came from my husband who said he wanted to do it because he wanted to return to discipline and also lose 10 kilos.

I thought: “I need to lose 3 pounds that I gained on vacation at the end of the year and that I am having trouble losing weight due to being in the pre menopause and losing weight has been more challenging. I’m 52 years old and I’ve been noticing some changes and differences in the body.

I thought: “I take the opportunity to support my husband who supports me so much and also as I am the one who cooks at home, it will be easier”.

We started the program on 05/15/23 and ended on 07/29/23, I confess that at the beginning, I had some (mental) resistance, such as diet and amount of water, but I left it to express my opinion when I finished the program, which made all the difference.

Resistances X Excuses

When I started the program I thought it was about a diet and because I didn’t believe in them I had a certain prejudice, but no, we who choose food, of course we need to cut something, in our case we decided to eliminate flour, sugar and oil.

1 gallon of water in the first week bothered me, actually irritated me, I didn’t understand the purpose of drinking so much water, I woke up to go to the bathroom every hour, but then I drew up a plan that flowed, I finished drinking the 1 gallon of water until 6 pm (ideal), at most 7/8 pm. the whole body, in the cells, blood flow, we feel clean internally. Detail, zero hunger, I didn’t feel hungry, that’s why we also eat less, in fact much less and maybe that helps to lose weight.

75  pictures, but after reading the author’s book I understood, it’s like scanning the body internally, it has the purpose of showing us the progress from day to day, in addition to being important to make us pay attention to details that are very important, because It’s easy to forget to take the photo and if that happens, it doesn’t matter, even if you’re on the 74th day, you’ll have to go back to the 1st day and start the whole program over again.

Discipline is freedom

Discipline is the key to turning things around, but discipline can sometimes need a review, some adjustments and this was my case, so helped me to realize that, so I was able to review, adjust and change some behaviors.

We finished the 75 Hard program, but I will continue with the habit of drinking more water, 1/2 gallon a day which is the minimum (before the program I didn’t drink not even half of it), I adopted the habit of reading the 10 pages and also going for a walk. We went to 2 weddings, had barbecues with friends, went to restaurants, everything was normal, we traveled on family vacations, in fact my husband travels a lot for work which is a little more challenging to maintain discipline, especially to do 2 workouts when the time passes day traveling by plane, but it is and was possible. We did it! We achieved! If we can do it, anyone can do it, in fact it was very good for our relationship, doing the program and walking together made us even more connected, accomplices.

Result

I lost 3 pounds and my husband Mark lost 20 pounds. I still haven’t gone through any cosmetic procedure, but I think the 75 Hard was better than if I had a plastic surgery with the advantage of being infinitely cheaper, without having to go through a post-operative period that must be terrible.

I can’t deny how much pleasure it is looking in the mirror and seeing yourself better than before, but what was most pleasurable and incredible were the mental benefits achieved; determination and mental clarity. I am expressing myself confidently, clearly and objectively. I’m much better at organizing my routine, learning to think more intelligently.

Ready for phase 1 that we will started in September, it’s a shorter and more advanced program, lasting 1 month, it’s the same 6 tasks + 5 minutes in a cold shower daily + develop 3 new skills. The goal is healthy longevity!

Love, Adriana
